On those cooler late-summer days, scarce as they are now, I open all of the windows in my small apartment in an attempt to create consistency. consistency in air flow, one of the more achievable forms I can find. First a soft breeze enters from the northeast window, the one overlooking the post office. Air coming in from a northwest facing window helps to push the air deeper into the kitchen. In the bedroom another northwesterly window and a patio door, bringing air from the southwest over the main street, struggle to add to the mix but the smells from that side make up for it.
I live above a restaurant. I can tell which day it is based on how the apartment smells. Wednesdays smell the best. Burger night.
